  1. Shoot the sister.

Not sure if I'm THAT angry. I'm with you all on the dog thing, some people really neglect the fact that a pet, especially a dog, takes a lot of work and can't just be expected to behave on its own. My sister is the epitomy of irresponsibility, you make a joke about me dragging her around a junkyard, but I've been there. She backed her truck into my other Subaru this summer, and I hunted for the parts, I fixed it, and I painted it. I even left her an implied warning, look at my avatar. Have I seen a penny or a sincere apology? You bet your butt I haven't...

Just for kicks here it is bigger...

Doesn't look too serious from here, but involved new radiator, new hood, lights, grill, etc.

  2. You don't know how much will-power it took me not to beat that dog to death (I don't mean to make that sound like I beat animals to death when my will-power's low). To add insult to injury in the whole situation the dogs giving me the no-brain "Hey look it's a friend!" look when I walk up. The thing that killed me is that the dog got moved to where the sube is a month ago and the dog hasn't touched it, no paw prints, no claw scratches. As soon as the door is left open the mutt goes Kujo on it. I guess I'm still to blame for not moving the car when my sister moved the dog into its vicinity. Didn't make my day any better either way. :-\

  3. I get a call from my sister when I was at work, and she tells me somebody left the door open on my backup subie (probably her, but beside the point). The kicker is her dog is chained up in reach of the car. Just for a background I didn't plan on keeping the car and was going to strip anything good off it and take the rest to the junkyard... Anyway, Kathleen tells me the dog, a young lab, jumped in through the door and managed to do this...

Notice the dog looking a little sheepish, me cursing up a storm when I saw this is an understatement... So I keeping the interior will be a No.

  4. Kinda feels like my other front axle is about to go on my Loyale and heres my situation... It's finals week, and after i finish some celebratory drinking thursday, I'm moving most of the small stuff from my apt. home ( post sobering up ;) ). Now, I'm moving this stuff 60 miles up I-5 and I'm prayin that the axle will hold. I have no tools here as I brought them home last week...so axle swap is outta the question. If the axle were to break loose somewhere along the way and I could find a non-interstate route home, how fast can you go with 4WD engaged, or is the 3WD a bad idea. Last time it happend was fortunate enough to have it happen about 2 miles from home so I limped it back going about 15mph cringing at the sound of the CV being torn even worse.

This is worst case scenario here, so just lookin for opinions and experiences.

    Thanks - Steve

  5. If any of these devices worked the car companies would be installing them on the car and then advertising the fact that their car gets 20% better mileage then X comparable car.

yeah i agree, plus just look at that guy, he looks like your typical sleaze-ball entrepreneur who's invented something "life-changing" ... like that tornado thing you slap in your air intake thats supposed to up your milage. I'll stick with stock gas milage, we drive subes after all...:D

  6. I wasn't getting fuel after one of my wagons sat for a couple of months, scratched my head for a while, figured out the fuel pump wasnt sending, so i crawled under and thwhacked it with a hammer a couple of times, started right up. Must of been a peice of sediment settled weird and caught just right. Could be worth a try, could be more serious...just puttin in my 2 cents. -Steve

  7. sorry for the loss, I had the same thing happen about 3 years ago, someone busted the window, didnt steal anything, and took off the park brake and pushed her onto some small boulders, just to be a wongleflute I guess. Its unfortunate people are like that. Funny enough it was my 86 GL wagon too, I have power windows though, i think i used the window from an 88 GL 4WD parts car and she worked fine.
