  1. Thanks for your post....I did not win the auction, however this is the car I want,, will be looking for one.. Thanks
  2. Need to know what issues are inherent in a 05 legacy with auto. Stationwagon. not turbo... thanks
  3. Folks, Need advise. My 01 legacy throws this code. What should I do. Does it need to be fixed. What are dangers if not fixed. Thanks for your suggestions.
  4. I have 01 legacy with about 100,000 miles; auto. I have also had the dreaded code. I too changed everything, plugs, wires, etc, etc. What fixed it for me was front and rear o2 sensor. Very frustrating issue.
  5. Problem fixed when I replaced the front and rear O2 sensor. Thanks everyone. Goes to show the forum works.
  6. Nipper, Do phase II engines blow the HG. I have been told that the Phase II engine rarely blows a HG after it has been replaced? I think that means its a HG issue. ??
  7. You are right it was a warranty repair. On the other hand Zerex looks like an alternative which is close to Subaru.
  8. You guys know a lot more about this stuff than I probably do. However I will tell you what I was told by our local subaru mechanic. He claims that on the phase I and II 2.5 engines, that only Subaru coolant and Subaru coolant conditioner be used. The reason is that as you all know those engines and the head gaskets were prone to failure. The new coolant and coolant conditioner were developed to help with the problem. Even after the mechanic changed the Head Gaskets on my 01 legacy, he refused to put in anything except the subaru stuff. Just my two cents...
  9. Nipper It has about 110 Miles. Belts changed at 100k, about 10 months ago. Its an Auto. OEM wires; infact everything is oem. I must admit, I am not sure if the Stealership changed Plugs, I will check it out. I don't want to take it back to the Stealer. I did have 301 and 302 code last week. It went away on its own. Nipper, Thanks for answering my post.
  10. Been having a few problems. The car has been hesitating, almost stalling, then surges. Really sluggish. I have changed wires, plugs, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter. Don't know what to do or check next. Appreciate all help.
  11. I have the same problem on my 01 legacy. I put a "recycled" alternator in 18 months ago. I guess the I got what I paid for. Please let me know if it is the alternator. thx
  12. Great questions; i look forward to the responses.
