Thanks again, I now know where the two lines thru the firewall go and will not deal with them. Got an old Haines (the new Chilton is next to useless) book from the guy who sold me the car and it is very helpful. I talked to a service manager at the local dealer who validated my idea to first disconnect the cable from the clutch that goes to the unit so it does not operate the valve when the clutch is pressed and check how much fluid I am still leaking, if a little, I can live with it (checking the reservoir periodically). If it continues to be a problem, I will put a T in place of the unit and by pass it all together which should solve the problem . . . Thanx!
Gotten more of a handle on the Vacuum lines and will probably rebuild the Carb as I am having additional problems ( hard start, bad idle, low mileage etc.). Trick will be to get the number off the carb to make sure the kit I order is correct. You observation on the weird auto year (87) seems to be true and gives me a heads up on what I need to do to get the correct parts. Do you have a good cheap source for these older models?
At any rate, it is starting to make sense with your input being important . . . thanks again
Owe you a hot bath in the local springs if you ever get down here to southern NM
