  1. ***** HELP ***** I had the CHECK ENGINE light come on while driving my 2000 Forester. Are there any common problem areas that would cause this condition? I tried removing the gas cap and putting it back on attempt to clear it (just like the owners manual says !) but the light has not cleared yet after driving around 25 miles. ~Howard
  2. For the tweeter kit or any other Subaru part try: http://www.1stsubaruparts.com/ ~Howard
  3. I am using the Subaru tweeter kit on my 2000 Forester. Sounds a tad better. Very simple to do. I did however replace the original radio (Clarion w/cassette ONLY) prior to the tweeter install with a Pioneer CD. I'd give the tweeters a shot. Do not buy the parts from your dealer. There are plenty on places on the Internet selling Subaru parts. ~Howard
  4. I think you sold me on Toyo ! In Philadelphia having a dedicated snow tire makes no sense to me. I do not have the storage room for 4 tires. ~Howard
  5. Does anyone have any experience with Toyo tires ? I've been thinking of getting a set for my 2000 Forester L (205/70R15). ~Howard
  6. 2000 Forester with keyless entry ONLY. How can I make the horn beep on lock/unlock ? My lights just flash now. ~Howard
  7. Does anyone have the instructions to install the factory tweeters in a 2000 Forester L ? If so, could you please e-mail me a copy ? The one I found online refers to the 2001 Forester. Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard
  8. ANY all season tire is a compromise. What do you suggest that would be good in the snow too ? I don't have the room to store tires so snows are a no go. ~Howard
  9. The Geolander is the stock tire now but in a 16 inch variety. The S model for 2000 had the 16 inch tires. ~Howard
  10. Here are my choices for replacement tires for my 2000 Subaru Forester L: (stock size is 205/70R15) (In no particular order) 1. Cooper Lifeliner STE 2. Kelly Navigator TE (upgraded to 215/65R15) 3. Yokohoma Geolander I/T (not sure if this is just a winter tire or not). 4. Yokohoma Avid S/T (upgraded to 215/65R15) 5. Yokohama Avid T4 I'm leaning toward the Avid T4 or the Kelly Navigator TE. Comments please. Thanks ! ~Howard
  11. My Forester is a 2000 L. That year the standard tire was a Bridgestone Dueler 205/70 R15. The S model that year got the 16 inch tires. ~Howard
  12. Wouldn't the larger size tires put more wear and tear on the differentials? What tire pressure are you using on the upgraded size ? ~Howard
  13. Crashton: What size Optima battery are you using ? The last time I checked the web site for them, they were not making one in a series 35 which the Forester uses. ~Howard
  14. Does anyone know if the new SUV battery from Diehard will fit the Forester ? ~Howard
  15. Since I a new Subaru owner, how about some tire and battery suggestions ? The 2000 Forester L takes 205/70 R 15 tires. The battery is a series 35. I have been thinking about a Diehard Silver battery and Yokahoma Avid T4 tires. Thanks ! ~Howard :nospam:
  16. I own a 2000 Forester L. I purchased it this past May. It's just a great car. It does not have daytime running lights. Is there any way to "activate" them or install them on this vehicle ? Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard :nospam:
