  1. I noticed some weeping of coolant from the gasket on the passenger side of my 2001 Forester. My dealer could not tell me if my vehicle was covered under the extended warranty. I called Subaru of America and they confirmed that it was and called my dealer to straighten things out. They changed out the coolant and added the sealer again which seemed to fix the problem for now. I have about another year on the warranty. Dave
  2. Chock up another one. I resoldered the resistor and it took off! Dave 97 Outback 01 Forester
  3. Thanks Ferret, that is what I plan to do. I just wondered if anyone else had, of knew of a similar experience. Dave
  4. I'm a long time lurker here. I have a '97 OB auto with 100K miles and a '01 Forester L auto with 35K miles. I just had the heater core replaced on the OB. The mechanic said it was related to the extended life coolant I was using. He also said he had not seen any head gasket problems. Not many Subarus here in Huntsville, AL. He is the only Sube mechanic at the dealer. No other problems with either car at this point. Dave
  5. I own a '97 OB with 100K miles and a '01 Forester with 35K miles. The only significant problem was a front crank seal oil leak on the OB that was fixed under warranty. I do most of the routine maintenance myself. I love the way these cars drive!
