www.vwrx.com - Kevin installed a very nice WRX STi from Japan, major work and it is awesome! Great website too. I watched the whole build up last summer, it is a dream car for me know. http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publish/article_757.shtml Eric's very clean WRX Vanagon S, this thing is very unique in that it was the first manual transmission conversion I know of anywhere. He also has taken it to the drag strip to compete, and has had it on a dyno to prove his HP and torque. :cool: He had to relocate the slave cylinder to fit the Turbo in there, very nice work. I believe he sold this Van to someone else in the PNW, not sure though. There are more and more people taking interest in the Vanagon, and it's potential with a modern powerplant. I think these conversion will help others in finding more HP and reliability. Cheers! Andy

Super Rupair in Boulder, CO claims to be the largest indepentent Subaru shop in the U.S.A. if not the world. I bought a used EJ22 from them this year, and saw the shop. Here in Colorado, there are Subaru's everywhere. I think Colorado leads the U.S.A. in Subaru sales, but don't quote me on that. I live in metro Denver, and I started counting Subaru's on my way to work each day, I never counted fewer than 20 ru's on my 10 mile drive into downtown Denver daily. Used parts, and cars are plentiful here. People here like to have 4WD and reliablilty, and Subaru fits the bill perfectly. I have lived in Colorado all my life, and I have yet to actually own a Subaru vehicle. I just transplanted an EJ22 into my VW Vanagon this summer, so I am half way there. My next car purchase will likely be a Subaru Legacy wagon or Outback wagon. Cheers! Andy

Hello Shawn, and everyone else! I have been planning a Subaru Vanagon conversion for over a year now, and the time has come to move forward. I was looking for other documented conversions today, and found USMB, awesome forum here! I look forward to reading and seeing more about your conversion. I will be putting an EJ22 in my 1989 Vanagon Carat. Feel free to visit my website at www.krautwagen.com - mostly covers my work on my 1973 VW Bug, but there will soon be an addition to my Vanagon pages which will cronicle my conversion process over the next 3 months. Right now I'm just looking for a good used engine, and related Subaru parts. Colorado is full of Subaru's so there is a lot to choose from.
