  1. I read on the 'Net that an o2 sensor has to be HOT to work properly... Marty
  2. My local Mobil Oil Change place has Mobile1 filter that's good for the life of the oil. Marty
  3. (Which car do you have?) My regular mechanic does an initial reading for free, maybe yours would for a small fee. Dealer would be about $75 or an hour's labor for diagnosis. Marty
  4. Diagnose for leaking head gasket, just in case. See following sites: Scott McGerik's mWeblog, file:///Users/marty/Desktop/HeadGasketWarningsBMW.webarchive
  5. Worst case scenario: head gasket leak (a Subaru issue). Leaking air would push coolant into reservoir, & spot overheating would make temp gauge erratic. Please have it diagnosed for that, & read these sites: Scott McGerik's mWeblog, file:///Users/marty/Desktop/HeadGasketWarningsBMW.webarchive Please post your results! Marty
  6. I Emailed you about my head gasket research. Our '00 Outback repair is $1250 at the dealer, curious about what yours is costing. Also, a friend just bought a '97 Legacy, wondering qbout what % of '97s are having this problem? His has 139k miles. Thanks, Marty
