  1. actually, there were 2 there! That was the toughest part for sure! THANKS! ps - I ended up ordering the 4.99 master sheet from Crutchfield to make sure I'd get all the screws. Good thing I did - those buggers were hard to find! I had to get a mirror!
  2. HI! I'm pretty good with instructions - but I don't have any for the removal of the head unit on my husband's car (I've replaced the factory radio on my car with the Crutchfield step by step instructions - love those). ANYWAY, I need to install a wired FM adapter for his sirius radio http://www.tss-radio.com/direct-adapter-wired-relay-p-4082.html?osCsid=6cb11f2266cc6500f80d712b5b5743e2 Can I assume that it will be self evident once I remove the panels? Are there any tips/tricks to removal? Thank you!
  3. SUCCESS!! Thanks guys - you were right, it was in the manual DUH! LOL and good thing I'm a chick with small hands!
  4. HI. TOTAL newbie - can you tell me if it's easy to replace a headlight bulb on an 04 Outback Wagon? I've never done it on any car THANKS!
  5. thank you very much for the offer! If we were a little closer, I'd consider it Thanks all - it sounds like it's on the up and up - for dealer prices. There are no repair shops in CT that I trust to do the work on our Subie so we might end up doing it there (just not today). She had brakes and belts today so now we're cash poor (I know, WAH). Thanks all
  6. well they said 6 cyl - not v6, that was me and I've been corrected. but thanks so much for your help.
  7. THey quoted us $328 to change the spark plugs on our 04 outback wagon with 60K miles. Is this normal or gouging? I told them NO THANKS (until I can figure out what's going on). They said because we have the v6 it takes 3 hours to GET to the plugs. If that's true, it doesn't sound like something I can change myself thanks.
  8. Thanks all- I just went through this with my car (explorer) and its funny - people would post what they liked and there were generally 2 or 3 brands/models that people would agree on and would get the majority of votes. YOU PEOPLE LIKE TOO MANY !! tirerack's high ratings include the bridgstone Turanza - over rated?
  9. Hi. My husband needs to replace the tires on his 04 outback wagon - H6. His commute to work is 40miles each way so there's lots of highway driving and we live in New England so some winters there is a lot of snow - others, not so much - this past winter there was a ton. The stock Bridgestone Potenzas were "ok" but we figure if we are putting on new tires, let's try something new. I checked tire rack and the Bridgestone Turanza's look good but I think most of the revieww come from people with sedans. Thoughts? SOrry for the rush post but we are looking to do this today or tomorrow!
