  1. Just about to take my old GL in to get the head gaskets done and I guess it decided it's scared of the doctor cause it's playing dead. When I turn the key on, all the warning lights come on like normal and then when I turn it to start, the voltage drops way down and I just hear a loud click. It doesn't seem to try to turn the engine over at all. Do I need a new starter? Hope you all can diagnose it from this description. Seems like it should be pretty straight forward, I just don't have experience with this or voltage meters to test things. Thanks for the help.... Rashaan
  2. Where would you recommend looking to get this done. I don't have the equipment to do it myself, so I'd have to take it to a machine shop probably. Any idea of how much this cost? Or anyone in NW WA that has the equipment want to make a little money? Thanks again
  3. Anyone have any experience with this? I need to get my engine pulled to replace a head gasket and I'm gonna have the clutch replaced while it's out. I have an extra flywheel and I'd like to get it shaved ahead of time so it can just be put in with the clutch. It's an 87 gl d/r 5spd. Thanks, Rashaan
  4. Can you tell anything my looking at the oil on the dipstick? When checking my tranny fluid it looks a nice clear peach color, I can't see any imperfections in it at all. Is it still possible things are dirty in there? Rashaan
  5. I can't find seafoam or redex products on the shelves of any of my local autoparts stores. Any reason they wouldn't be carried here?
  6. Thanks for sharing your experiences guys. I think I will go ahead and change the fluid first cause I don't know if it's ever been done. I just got the car a few months ago and can't find any paperwork with it showing tranny fluid change. Hopefully it's that easy. If driving in 2wd would put more strain on the rear clutch pack I probably shouldn't do it right?
  7. I finally got rid of my GL a few months ago and upgraded to a 91 Legacy wagon. I got a really great deal on it, but figured out that it will need a transmission fix soon like all of those A/T's. I'm starting to feel some binding and sometimes some hesitation in power transfer. I'm wondering how long I can drive it before it becomes undrivable and what happens when it finally breaks? I need it to last a little longer as I am strapped for cash. Also does anyone out there know of anyone in the Bellingham, WA area that might do a better job than others or give me a better deal? I hope I don't have to bring it to the dealership. Thanks a bunch, Rashaan.
  8. Hey, thanks for the tips. I've never done it before so I'm sure they'll help. Do the cold temperatures of winter make it more difficult? My friend did a great job on his civic by taking the windows out and said it was a lot easier that way is why I was asking. Rashaan
  9. Hi all! I want to tint all the rear windows in my new '91 legacy wagon. Anyone know if I can easily remove those windows? Rashaan
