  1. whats up fellow Virginian?!

  2. My loyale was making sounds like that the other week. My driver's side belt tensioner pully bolts were stripping out the threads inside the block. I got the belts tight and it started fine. I shut it off and tried it again and the same noise. The damn thing kept coming loose. I replaced the belts and put helicoils in there and all is well. I never owned a turbo before so i have no idea what a bad one sounds like.
  3. That's what I did, but I also noticed that the 1 bolt that is in the channel of the pulley is stripped. I think it's a combination of the car is getting old, and I need to get off my ARSE and show a little TLC. I have an 06 expedition to tie me over until I fix her. The wife will just have to slow down on the yoga for a while.
  4. I'm thinking about buying those as well. I was wondering if that kit comes with the tensioner springs? I tried to time my 90 loyale and the Dang #2 belt keeps on skiping a tooth and the belt is flapping like crazy. I noticed that the spring is missing and the belt was loose. Just wondering. Thank you.
  5. It is a very easy basic training, I used to teach The M16A2 to all the Basics, been in for 12yrs and now teaching to base personnel. I believe they changed it from 6wks to 8wks. Helpful hint, try to get an AFSC in writing not by word of mouth from the evil person signing you up. You're just a number to them. If you have any questions PM me if you want. Sorry to change the subject, but I've seen too many good people come into a job and hate the time they served. And yes they did have those cards. It had info on it telling them who they needed to contact if they were not treated farily. We ripped a lot of them up!
  6. My 1990 Loyale wagon was doing the same thing. When I'd start the car to let it idle, it would tick like crazy. Sometimes even after it was at running temp. I run Moble 1 in everything I own, and my Loyale is no different. I was feeling froggy so I bought a can of seafoam and tried it out. I poured 1/3 can into PCV and another 1/3 can in crankcase, and kept the rest for later. This worked like a charm. After a week she is still TOD free
  7. Got it done and runs like a champ:headbang: . The exhaust that I put on from the parts car had a bunch of water in it and a lot of white smoke came out the backside. That scared the snot out of me, but I was thinking, the parts car was leaking coolant so I just let it burn out and all is good. The O2s was also put in and works. The glass pack is in and sounds GREAT, after I got it hot and put water in it just to speed up the process.
  8. Thank you for the replies. I was going to change the O2s yesterday but I couldn't get the old one out. My parts car, 87 GL wagon, has a brand new exhaust system so I tried to swap it out but I had no tools for cutting. I will be doing this today and also be putting on a glass pack to replase the turbo mufflef I put on before. Again I thank you for the info.
  9. Here is a pic just outside the firearms range where I work. This is also a test because I've never posted a pic.
  10. I think it's just about a 1/2 hr west of Virginia beach. Thanks. The car is in nice shape. It only has 3 spots of surface rust. I'm just not sure if I want to do the trans swap.
  11. This might need to be in a different section. I am getting ready to change my duty station (USAF) and was just wondering if I should sell my 90 Loyale wagon in AK and buy one there or have the military ship it? I have a 5sp dr for the swap so I'm good there. I was just asking if subarus are in abundence there, near Langley. Thank you.
  12. Hello everyone, I just bought a universal O2 sensor and it says to cut and splice. Will I have to do this or is it plug and go? Thank you.
  13. https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/ Go here for the springs. She delevers fast from what I hear.
  14. You can contact subigal for these or go on ebay and look. I found a set of gabirel's fronts for $45 and a set for the rear for about $35. I can't find springs on ebay though. You could always go to a pick and pull. Good luck. I think the part# is front left G55785, front right G55784. For the rear it's G51183, atleast that's what fits my 1990 loyale wagon 4wd. Good luck.
