2000outback

This is my first winter with my 2000 Outback and I'm wondering if the car would have been built with a block heater as all North American cars sold in Canada are.If so where would I look for the cord.BTW I haven't looked for it at all yet as my wife has it most of the time.

Last week I posted the question about changing the oil in my 2000 Outaback and it was said that you must remove the skidplate.Well I did the job this past weekend and one of the previous owners has removed the skidplate and never replaced it.How important are they?The car only gets driven on mainly paved roads and never off road.

There are about 60,000 miles on it and yes I do plan on keeping it for a while .What about the actual changing of the oil?Are they hard to work on?Anything in the way?

I am sure this has been asked/answered on here before but I'm new here.I have a 2000 Outback with a 2.5.I have always done my own oil changes on my other vehicles but it's time to do the Subaru and I'm wondering what I'm in for.I haven't had the car very long but like it alot.Any pointers on doing the oil change would be greatly apprciated.

I have a 2000 Outback with approx. 130000 kms/60,000 miles and it seems to use oil.It doesn't smoke or seem to leak but I would say it uses maybe a litre of oil every 2000 to 3000 kms.Is this excessive for this vehicle.I know with North American vehicles the PCV valve can cause oil problems but I'm not that familiar with these.BTW it's a 2.4.

Yes it does have the handle on the rear one but it won't slide back manually.

How do I get the rear sunshade to slide back without opening the sunroof.The front one will slide back and allow you to see out while keeping the glass closed but the rear one won't.
