tedbull
Hello, I am new here and this is my first post. I tried a search but came up with nothing. I have a 1990 loyale 5 speed with the push button 4x4 on the shifter. It always worked great untill today when I pushed the button and nothing happend. I did not feel or hear the usual clunk when it engages and the 4x4 did not display on the instrument panel. I looked for a fuse and found nothing that was labled. My hanes service manual does not mention it. What would be the first few things to trouble shoot this issue??? Tedbull
torxxx
Make sure your vacuum lines are hooked up to the 4WD solenoids. And also make sure the solenoids are functioning properly. not sure what the test procedure is on them, but if u push the button on the stick shift, one solenoid should open and apply vac to the diaphram on the side of the transmission. Also its not uncommon for the wires going to the button to break off due to old age
tedbull
Thanks, I found it. I had knocked the main vacume line loose when I changed out my fuel filter. Ted
