October 17, 200916 yr I have heard that the cams in 4 plug N/A EA82 MPFI's had a longer duration and thus better than the 4 plug Turbo cams, does anyone have any documentation of that, and is there anyway to identify the cams when looked at. I got a set of NA cams yesterday, and they have different numbers to my Turbo cams, but my 2 sets of turbo cams are marked different as well.... Thanks.
October 18, 200916 yr a caliper is really the only way to tell if the duration is different. longer duration cam will have a wider peak of the lobe. Someone on here may have a data sheet on the cams. ( I too am interested as I have a MPFI n/a sittin out back at my shop) My battlewagon has a SPFI block/heads/cam in it running a carb and I've noticed a performance difference from my carb block, so I'm assuming the SPFI cam must be slightly different. It wouldnt surprise me if the MPFI N/A cams were different than the turbo mpfi. the N/A mpfi seemed to have the most power made so I'm guessing they must have a different cam along with the multi port to give it the extra power.
