November 4, 200916 yr I've been collecting Subaru keys in/from junkyard cars, and most all of them work universally.......
November 4, 200916 yr .... wired up some POS switch that just takes a screwdriver to start.......... , well. his mind set was, "keep it running regardless of damage"... sorry it will cost you to change that back if you want to make it a nice runner vrs just something to beat up. This may not be the same case but on my 84 Hatch I thought the switch failed.. long story short after I replaced, the Locksmith re-keyed and looked at the original key and said here is your problem, key gets worn and acts just like a bad switch... lesson learned for me was cut new key, lube igniton switch on my next old roo before I toss switch... my .02 cents...
