which lights will light the road better

Featured Replies

I need to find an answer in regards to lights to help shine down the road to see deer before they run out. Will the factory oem foglite pictured here light the road better, or wil those in picture 2 light better.

I already have the Subaru ones in my posession, but don't know how good they would work.

The OEM Subaru lights are fog lights. The Hella lights are driving lights. The Hellas will light up the road much better for a far greater distance.

The factory foglights will light the road to the sides and directly in front of the car. The hella 500 driving lights will light the road way down the road. But, you will have to turn them off if there is oncoming traffic, it will blind other drivers like highbeams.

I have the hella 500 fogs, not driving, in place of the factory fogs on my wrx. This is a nice compromise, more light than stock fogs and you can leave them on all the time without blinding others. I rewired the foglight switch so I can drive with highbeams and fogs at the same time and it's perfect for back roads, but illegal in some states.

The Hella lights will work better, but you should make sure they're legal for on-road use in your state before installing them.

ah, the legality.

hmmm.

well, I am still driving around with my BRAT and the Cyclops light on waiting for mister officer to say I cant do that.

I would go with the factory fog lights and convert them and your headlights to HID. The patterns remain the same, but you get WAY more lumens.
