Carb number indentiication

Featured Replies

I just received my carb in the mail and I'm looking for a rebuild kit. The number on the ploat bowl reads DCJ 306-8 and 701 below that. I got one hit from the search feature on the number, it's supposed to be from a 79 Brat. Can anyone Re-confirm this and point me to source for rebuild kits. I found one on ebay listed for an "1980 Subaru", I'm a little wary on squeezing the trigger on the ebay item until I get some feed back on from the Masters of Subaru.

P.S thanks again Bill for the quick turn around on the carb, well packaged.

Thanks In advance

Eric

Definitely sounds like a gen 1 carb. You might try asking in the Historic Forum for where people get kits for them. I've only ever rebuild the EA81 and EA82 Hitachi's (DCP 306's and DCZ 328's IIRC).

Paul Moosens has a kit for a Hitachi for sale in the Classifieds forum, check with him, see if it is for that carb :) He deals almost exclusively with Gen 1 and Gen 2 parts
