I'm putting a 1992 legacy ej22 engine in a 1987 volkswagon vanagon. I was interested to know if there are any ways to increase HP? Any links would be greatly appreciated.

Not really, unless you might consider some cams. Even those are hard to locate and there may be some tradeoff in reliable idling or something.
