This weeks mods....

Featured Replies

It's been a weird week for my '83 GL. On Friday, I like an idiot managed to lock my keys into my wagon while it was running. I also didn't have any spare keys, so while the car was begining to overheat, I had to beat the drivers side rear door window out. I was going to replace the door anyway since it had a dent, just had to do it a bit sooner now. I call that motivation! :-p

so now, my soob looks like a freak; it has a white door. White doors on a gold car.... sounds like a recipie for a mexican police car to me!

I also made a mod that made it a little better. I changed from straight halogen low beams to the new silverstar hi-intensity blue headlights. They are awesome, and since I left in the fact. (are IHI's the orginals?) highbeams. With them both going, there isn't anything you can't see. It's weird to see an old soob with the new blue lights!

I've also finished cleaning my replacement carb and am ready to put it back together. I got all the gasket material to make a kit for it, but does anyone make a rebuild kit for a '83 Hitachi 2bbl? My parts store says no., and no way will I pay nearly $300 for a soob carb, I'd go turbo before that. :D

Driving a subie, who knows what the next week will hold!

Big thumbs-up to Sylvania lights. I run the "Cool Blues" (which are not blue at all, rather, bright white) in the Scooby and they're great. I had them for two or three years in my old Sentra and they ruled as well.
