December 3, 200916 yr I have a 94 Loyale wagon and problem with front wipers. They only work on high speed and in conjunction with the washer. According to the haynes manual it does not have the intermitent module. Is the delay system in the main switch on steering column? Searched with no solid answers. Are my wipers true delay type or am I overlooking something? Thanks
December 3, 200916 yr I would go to a JY and grab a new wiper/headlight switch and just plug it in and see if it works. If it works, that's your problem, if it doesn't, then it's something with the wiper motor probably or the wiring. My local Pull a Part lets me test parts before I buy them, so I can test to see what's wrong. Maybe one in your area allows you to do the same. Just a thought.
December 3, 200916 yr the wiper control will either be on the drop panel under the steering column(87 gl) or on the ecu mount nut on the right(89 gl) i cant imagine a loyale being different. hope this helps. the module is blue
December 4, 200916 yr I have a hard time believing that Haynes schematic. It just doesn't work that way. Bad switch is the most likely problem. The motor must be good, or else it wouldn't work at all. Maybe there is a single bad wire or contact on the switch, one that is common to the normal operating positions, but is duplicated by one that kicks in on wash?
December 19, 200916 yr Author Finally got to check this out and the Haynes must be right the wiper switch is a combo type. Now to get switch from parts car as weather permits. Right now I'm enjoying the 4X4 as it's snowing in Ohio and I'm happy with it's performance in the snow.
