February 5, 200422 yr the cd rom on ebay for forester tech manuals goes up to 2000. I have a 2001. What would be different about my car that wouldn't be on the cd rom? Would it still make sense for me to get the cd rom?

February 5, 200422 yr I believe it was 2001 when they "freshened" the Forester a bit. Larger taillights, different grill, changed the model features around a bit (eg, I think they changed from rear drums to discs on one of the models... ) Mechanically, I'm not aware of anything that would be significantly different. 2000 and 2001 would both have the Phase II engine. The model didn't change until 2003 with the new platform. I have no idea if the CD is any good or not. Commuter
February 6, 200422 yr With patience you'll be able to find pretty much anything on eBay: I've even got a FACTORY paper manual for a 2002 car (not Subaru) for 40 bucks! But I've been looking regularly for 4 or 5 months. If 2000's out, 2001 will be available shortly, just wait.
