price of a H6 swap

Featured Replies

I just priced a new longblock for a h6 from 1stsubaruparts.com

list price is $7360.82, and they sell it for $6801.40

Anyone wanna attempt that swap should know the cost of these motors, and used prices arent much better, IF you can find one.

Junkyard I frequent sells 6 cylinder engines minus accessories for $175 plus core. Much better than $7,000

Uh, yeah, seems like a no-brainer to me!

Do they ever have a 3.0 H6?

Has anyone come across an H6 in the yard.

Dang, everytime i try to type its H^

have one shipped, they're easily found for $1,500.

has to be rare to find one of those in the cheaper yards. if they're only getting $175 for an engine they certainly didn't pay much for the car - these cars are expensive even when wrecked though - so it's not going to be "common".

another option is getting the entire car, finding a wrecked one for instance.

I am going to be doing an h6 in my 1st gen legacy.

INHO you'll want a whole car. This gives you the ecu, wiring, etc... Stuff that to piece together is possible but time consuming and maybe more expensive.

You can get decent svx's for a G or less...
