January 16, 201016 yr I have an EJ25 shortblock that I am wanting to pull the pistons out of. I already have the oil pan off. How do I go about pulling these pistons out and will I need any special tools?
January 17, 201016 yr A pair of long nosed needle nosed pliers to remove the pin clips. Then a slide hammer to remove the wrist pins. I have heard of others using different things to get them out but the slider is the correct tool from Kent tools.
January 17, 201016 yr Author Not really wanting to disconnect the piston for the rod. Would like to keep it all together as one piece.
January 17, 201016 yr Not designed to come apart that way. Pull the pistons, seperate the block and remove the crank and rods.
