I have an EJ25 shortblock that I am wanting to pull the pistons out of. I already have the oil pan off. How do I go about pulling these pistons out and will I need any special tools?

A pair of long nosed needle nosed pliers to remove the pin clips. Then a slide hammer to remove the wrist pins. I have heard of others using different things to get them out but the slider is the correct tool from Kent tools.

Not really wanting to disconnect the piston for the rod. Would like to keep it all together as one piece.

Not designed to come apart that way. Pull the pistons, seperate the block and remove the crank and rods.
