hi im very green to this forum but i like to read the things posted ther very informative i just bought a 82 gl and its got rust in it the owner told me ...im trying to find a replacement and , whqt other years and models can i swap a fuel tank with? thanks

The tank can come from any similar subaru with the same body style (usually 81to 84) as long as its isnt a 2wd tank going in a 4wd as the tank has a indentation for the rear diff. Where are you?

will one from a hatchback work?? from an 84 gl hatch??

i live in rhode island and these cars get eaten alive buy the salt

hatchback is different. the tank is overall shorter, and the rear half wont bolt up unless you fab a mount.

too bad.... i have a brand new oem subaru tank and oem subaru sending unit for a hatchback...

I am looking at an 82 wagon myself and it has a rusted tank. I am told that you can get it reglazed for around $200 but have not verified. Wondering what you paid for the wagon and what kind of shape it is in. Thanks
