EJ22ed Loyale clicking 2nd gear 1k-2.5rpm?

Featured Replies

When heavily accelerating a EJ22 5spd pushbutton 4wd loyale I get a very faint clicking (about 1 click every half second or so) from 1000 - 2500 RPM in 2nd gear?

Oil pres OK

I can turn the wheel all the way to the lock and drive in circles (both R and L) w/o any noise

thoughts?

Thanks

ONLY in second gear? I would suspect something with that gear or synchro.

axles? rear axles maybe? i have had axles that would click under accelertion, but not while turning

I know this may be a longshot but.... Speedo cable hooked up? In mine it's not and it was resting on something behind the dash and making a slight clicking noise, couldn't be heard in first so much cause it wasn't spinnin so fast and by the time I got into third or above the road/engine noise nearly drowned it out. Unlikely but possibly your answer. Thanks, Spencer

The speedo is connected and I noticed a slight clicking in other gears as well today (still very faint).

Axles?

I've also noticed my pass side valve cover has developed a significant leak.

i have the same thing happeing on my xt, i can hear it even in neutral...

im thinking the axle or the wheel berring..

Nothung in neutral and the bearings were just done (the ones that needed doing that is). Hmm?

What would be the other signs if it was the:

Engine?

Tranny?
