February 25, 201016 yr I am just wondering if there is some reason why I can't/shouldn't put 1.5 pitch studs in my hubs so I can get ball seat lug nuts to run alloy pugs. Seems like it would be easier than trying to get pug nuts and while I don't have a problem with using the ball seat adapters, it would be nice to just run ball seat lug nuts. Is there any reason why I should not do this? The only reason I question it is because it seems there would be more talk of this as an option, but I mostly just hear about people searching for pug nuts.
February 25, 201016 yr I don't see why not, but I am sure somebody here has a reason.... I personally have the adapters for mine when I go that route. My decision was for cost. Already have studs, lug nuts, pug wheels, and it was $12 for the adapters.

February 26, 201016 yr subaru oem uses 12x1.25 thread and 19mm lugnuts with 60 deg seat. you can go with 21mm lugnuts with same thread and seat(on subaru wheels) i swapped chrysler wheels on my legacy. the chrysler had a coarse thread for the lugs, 21mm, did not screw on. i just used 21mm metric nuts and was good to go. the studs could ghave been longer for the chrysler wheels, though. they treaded on all the way but the last thread, but is secure enough for me to drive on it.
February 26, 201016 yr there was a thread a year or so ago... the Pug nuts used on the alloys are not a true ball seat, just a very wide base 60 deg angle nut.... the ball seat adapters do work, but are not optimal....

If I am not mistaken, what I am really looking for is a 1.5 pitch, 60 degree taper nut, that is a larger diameter(21 mm?)than stock Subies lug nuts. I'll look into it. March 1, 201016 yr I used studs from an Isuzu Rodeo, 12 x 1.5. They pressed in nice and are a good length. My wheels are Rodeo wheels too, actually.
