ignition switch light won't stop flashing

I'm New to Subaru so I'm trying to find an easy answer.

 

my 2008 Legacy's ignition switch light continually flashes.

 

The owners manual says it should fade after start up but it doesn't.

 

It is especially annoying to the passenger at night.

 

Any suggestions on how to get this to stop?
