April 4, 201015 yr I remember hearing bout this oil and using it in my other brats a few years back. Both in the oil and gas tank. Didnt seem to harm any but does it really help??? Plan on using it in my brat when I get it next week and want to know if you guys still use this and if its worth using. Any input would be most appreciated. April 4, 201015 yr It can help with lifter tick, but ultimately we can't know if it will help your brat unless we know whats wrong with it. If it has a flat tire, MMO probably won't help.
April 4, 201015 yr Author Theres nothing wrong with it, just want to know if its good to throw in once in a while to help prevent any wear???
April 4, 201015 yr Its a cleaner, more than an anti wear additive, i believe its mostly tranny fluid.
April 4, 201015 yr Author It says on the bottle to use in your motor oil and your gas. So I dont think its for your tranny. Edited April 4, 201015 yr by biffanyus spell
April 8, 201015 yr I can't say how it would work specifcally for your application but I will say that many techs I have worked with recommend using it from time to time.
April 9, 201015 yr What do you base this assumption on???? It looks and tastes like trany fluid. Also, based on the MSDS both MMO and Dexron have a great deal of Naptha and mineral oil. Edited April 9, 201015 yr by NoahDL88
April 9, 201015 yr It looks and tastes like trany fluid. Also, based on the MSDS both MMO and Dexron have a great deal of Naptha and mineral oil. Cool. I agree it looks and taste the same but I was still curious, thx for the clarification I know of using tranny fluid poured into the carb or even added to the fuel in days of yor, but it was pretty hard on seals n such. Did a helluva job cleaning the fuel and intake system tho. Can't recall now but is Naptha alcohol? lighter fluid? basically? Mineral oil is same as engine oil minus additives Edited April 9, 201015 yr by asis
April 9, 201015 yr Naptha is a petroleum distillate. What ever it is, its good stuff. I'm also a big fan of Seafoam, but that's for a different application.
April 16, 201015 yr I think MMO has been around about 50 years longer than auto transmissions. I use it in our trucks at work and on industrial engines we use. I can't prove it does anything, but we get 350 - 400k miles out of F-350s and 8000 hours out of industrial Ford 6 cylinders running at 1900 RPM.
