K&N Oil Filters

Featured Replies

Anybody using them? I have had a couple HP2008's for a while and its correct for the '85 Brat. Good, bad, or blah blah blah blah?

Are they an extended use filter like the air filters or are they tyipically good for one oil cycle like any other filter?

They are a Mobil 1 filter with a nut welded on the bottom :)

So are they any good? Extended use or not?

They are awsome, just about as great of a hp mod is adding a yellow stripe. Im kidding:grin: You will find a great deal of debate on what is the best oil filter for your car. Honestly i am running the same oil filter for 3 years:eek: and havent noticed much. I dont think my brother ever changed the oil in the 5 years he owned it. Just dont buy fram, they use inferior material. I hear wix is good and so are a few others but i would think with a k & m name brand on it they would try to jack up the price. Do alittle research online to find the best brands. But really if you change your oil every 3k most anything will do the job. These flat4s are pretty robust engines they can handle alot.

All good stuff. I normally will use a Wix, NAPA Gold or Pulalator. Thought since I have these on the shelf I'd try them. I drop the oil (Castrol GTX)and filter simultaneously, and religiously between 3,500 and 4,000.
