Ziptie Rally Team announces a second car

Featured Replies

Ziptie Rally Team (ZRT) is proud to announce the addition of car 858 to the team! Car 858, a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX, will be driven by Anthony “Izzy” Israelson and co-driven by Jason Standage in Rally America’s Open Light class. Anthony and Jason are newcomers to rally competition and are looking to learn and capitalize on the experiences of teammates Carl Siegler and Dave Goodman. Carl and Dave operate car 171, a 2004 Subaru STI. In 2009 they ran in Open Light (finishing 3rd driver and 2nd co-driver in the Central Regional Open Light standings) and have moved to Open class for 2010.

Anthony and Jason will be making their rally debut at the Nemadji Trail Rally on May 8th in Duquette, MN. After that, they plan to contest Gravity Park, Nemadji Trail 2, Nemadji Trail 3, Ojibwe, and LSPR in an effort to secure the 18 coefficients necessary to transition to Super Production or Open for 2011. Carl and Dave will be competing at these same events (with the exception of Gravity Park as they will be traveling to STPR the week after) and hope for a solid two car ZRT showing. The 171 car is coming off a strong showing at 100AW taking 2nd in Open and 3rd overall during Friday’s regional rally (a small engine fire took them out of Saturday’s rally) and is currently 2nd in Central Regional Open class standings.

Ziptie Rally is a performance rally team based out of Golden Valley, MN. The addition of car 858 gives ZRT a strong presence in the Duluth, MN area as both Anthony and Jason hail from the region. ZRT’s crew chief, Matt Alexander also lives in Duluth. For more information on the Ziptie Rally Team look them up on facebook or visit their website http://www.ziptierally.com.

They got the N/A 2.5 motor swapped into the WRX so they can run Open Light class this year. then got it cleaned up, and stickered up.....
