stuck seatbelt???

Featured Replies

so my right rear seatbelt won't release. its drawn tight. no slack. stupid thing. i checked with my favorite upholstery place and they suggested the scrap yard and they'd install it. checked my favorite local yards and came up empty. looks like i'm headed for the dealer...which is fine...but does anyone have any suggestions?? i'm thinking i'm having someone install a new assembly. any thoughts? thanks for any help.

I have a 98 forester parts car that I can pull one for you. Let me kow if I can help you out.

By the way, they are easy to replace. You can do it yourself.

Might just be the lock is jammed. Try pulling the belt up towards the reel, and see if the lock releases.

If you can't get it loose that way, pull the bottom seat cushion up and unbolt the belt from the floor pan.

maybe the belt frayed and jammed, happened to me with my '98 leg free replacement, check with a dealer first

remove seat bottom 2 bolts.

pull up cushion

remove bolt going into the latch portion of the belt, the part with the red button to release.

Tension will ease, you will be able to unbuckle.

put all bolts back in.
