February 18, 200422 yr Author former pres of GM and inventor of the GTO and the Delorean car. When the Delorean Motor company was hard up for funds the FBI ran a sting on him offering him coke sales to fund his company. I am in San Carlos Ca in the building that used to be Eureka bank who helped to fund Delorean.
February 18, 200422 yr Author I hit the wrong button and posted this to a new thread rather than continueing on the mention of Delorean in the upholstery thread.
February 18, 200422 yr ahhh ok I got it now.. I used to want one of those until I found out what engine they used. Peugeot V6.. The oil pump uses STEEL gears, but the housing the gears ride in, is cast into the aluminum block... Score the pump, and you scrap the block... Also found in Peugeots with the V6, and the Volvo 760...
February 18, 200422 yr Author but thier cars were usually geat comfortable easy chairs or buzzy little ants with little in between.
February 18, 200422 yr Wasn't John arreasted in L.A.? The bank location is right, wasn't that the branch on ElCamino Real? My grandma had a bunch of money in there at one time, during the years (way back) she lived in Belmont, couple blocks off Ralston.
February 18, 200422 yr Author at 1250 San Carlos Ave, about a block from El Camino. If you ever see the video on the History channel that was shot up stairs. The building is much the same in that area. SamTrans bought it as headquarters for pennies on the dollar when Eureka Bank lost your grandma's money.
February 18, 200422 yr Nah, her money's safe, pulled out when she moved to Sunnyvale. When I was in that neighborhood a couple of years ago, a lot of the buildings looked the same as when she moved there, in the early 60's. Hey, is the Lariat Bar still there? On El Camino, west side, between Ralston and Holly (closer to Ralston)? Grampa's hangout;) . (edit) IIRC, real close to Harbor(St., Blvd., whatever).
