June 25, 201015 yr How large would my lift have to be to clear 29" tires on a 91 Lego with outback struts on? Also any ballpark prices. Have looked some up but I don't want to go any higher than I have to to get decent clearance. Thanks guys.
June 26, 201015 yr I would say 4" to fit those tires, but then I am not sure how much outback struts lift the car.IIRC they lift the car about 2" so then a 2" strut bottom lift?
June 26, 201015 yr Author Ok and this has to be added to the lower end of the strut correct? So that it can clear the tire under the perch?
June 27, 201015 yr I have a 98 legacy- with the SJR 3" kit, with outback struts... FYI I also have all my suspension from a 91 legacy wagon (mine was rusty, so I replaced it from a 91 parts car, it all is the same stuff underneath) I have 27x9.5" superswampers, and I have not trimmed anything- I think with some slight trimming you could easily fit 29" tires, as long as they are not 9.5 inches wide- I would go narrower if possible- it would require less trimming/pounding... otherwise just go with some 28's if you can, they would fit a little better
