New User & Brat Owner from SoCal

Featured Replies

Hi, just bought an '82 Brat GL off E-bay. This is my first old-school Subaru. The owner overstated its condition, but I'm infatuated. The car idles rough, smells, and bucks and jumps when attempted to drive, as well as has decade-old expired tags. My goal is to make a CA-emissions passing, good running, lifted on/off-road beast to climb the dirt hills when my friends/coworkers and I go shooting.

I don't know why I didn't hear about this board before, being a Baja owner and a member of another popular North-American site.

Anyway, hello from Southern California! Wish me luck with my project since I have no knowledge of working on old-school Subies, only Mopars.

"Pat in a Brat"

Welcome aboard, Pat. Sounds like you have a great project starting. You found the right place here!

Welcome aboard Pat. There are several BRAT owners here as well as a few Baja owners. And future Baja owners (myself). If you've got questions about Older Gen Subarus, this is Definitely the place to get answers.

And we LOVE PICS! Show off your Brat and BAJA!

Welcome to the club! I'm also in So Cal and am the proud owner of three Subarus, including an '81 Brat. I know of a few other Brat owners down here and we are all happy to live in the "rust free" zone.

Pics, please :-)
