February 22, 200422 yr I have a '84 brat, i am not getting any voltage at the fuel pump wit just the ignition key on. Fuse ok. I jumpered power to it and the fuel pump fires right up. Does the power to the pump run thru another circuit that cuts power to the pump? Any ideas what to check for? Help would be appreciated Thanks, Glen
February 22, 200422 yr have you checked all of your fuse's my the horn fuse would blow and it would cut power to disty and fuel pump odd?
February 22, 200422 yr Ruggage, there is some kind of sensor at the coil that shuts the fuel pump off if the engine doesn't keep running after initial start-up. Keeps the fuel pump from over-pressurizing the system. That's about all I know, sorry.
February 22, 200422 yr Author Thanks for the responses. have a coule american cars that run the fuel pump as soon as you turn the key. I found that this is not the case with the Brat. Got it working, so thanks! Glen
