My names Doc and I have a 1987 dl wagon,,, i love my car, but its seen some ruff roads,, and needs some attention. I am hoping to find a friendly group who might be able to unlock the mystery of my engine troubles with me.Cant get used to driving the GMC van again, its just not a Subie! howdy, and welcome to the board. without any knowledge of your particular vehicle id say its either timing belts or a headgasket. EA82(the motor in your soob) have tendencies to go wrong sometimes and thats usually where. again, you didnt say what was wrong with it but theres an un-warranted stab in the dark

Man that was fast! I had no idea that I would get replies so quick, heck I just posted a minit ago it seemed,, oldage creepeth upon methinks! So9 many thanks for a warm welcome and yepper the board holds a lot of promise and I hope to tap into the experts knowledge and get litl blue roadworthy again,,,, further on down th road. Like stated before, check the older generation subaru forum, and you will find advice on ANYTHING.

 

I had a 1984 Subaru GL Wagon... EA81 motor, and the biggest source of my knowledge is Rick... General Disorder... He is great, try to find him... and ask him about a symptom and he will let you know.
