October 11, 201015 yr First you tell us what you are working on - then we tell you if it's likely or not. Then if it is you take the heads and have them pressure tested after you remove them. It's a head gasket job either way - most of the time the gasket's blow rather than the heads actually cracking. GD
October 11, 201015 yr Author sorry 92 loyale 5 speed ea82. I was reading another post and they were asking about a gurgling sound. I know i have a slow coolant leak and figured the gurgling was just some air from the slow leak. The other nite after I drove home and parked it I was sitting in the car and the car was off but the engine was making a noise that sounded like pop corn popping with a pulse. Thats about the best way to describe the sound. Just wondering if maybe it would be the head gasket?
October 11, 201015 yr Probably not. It would be overheating if it was a head gasket. Fix your coolant leak. The gurgling sound is from air bubbles in the heater core, and the popping noise the expansion and contraction of the exhaust headers. Normal. GD Edited October 11, 201015 yr by GeneralDisorder
