read memory connectors

Featured Replies

so im working on a 1986 rx. somebody wired in an aftermarket cruise control. lets say they did a bad job. anyways somewhere down the line someone cut off one of the memory connectors for the ecu . i cant find that wire anywhere!!! anyone know the color wire it is? or where exactly it goes to so i can try to trace it. any help is good help thanks. oh by the way i found one of them the male end that is black and red wire

You can trace which pin on the ECU is for the read memory function - just go to my SPFI conversion page and download the PDF factory service manual at the bottom - it has the ECU pin-out for both SPFI and MPFI (I think). The pin is one half of the connector pair - the other half is just a ground wire. You can make a new pair of connectors by just crimping some male/female spades on - one to the ECU read memory pin and another to a ground wire with a ring terminal on the other end and bolted to a conveient ground under the dash.

i figured it was going to be a ground wire. thank you for the reply. having the pin number on the ecu will be handy indeed.
