I recently bought a 1987 GL it had a swaped motor and seems to run great but one problem. The red square warning lights stay on all the time unless i accelerate getting the rpm's above 3k. then they go off until i slow down. Is there a wireing mistake from when the new engine was put in? It has a new alternator but im wondering if its not working as it should.

What is the voltmeter saying?? The GL should have a voltmeter. But yes to me it sounds like the alternator is weak (based on what my GL's did when their alts died). The voltmeter would confirm this if its like 11 volts at idle and 14 if you rev it up or something.
