xt6 suspension under ea82

Featured Replies

I've had a wild hair for a while of the thought of a lowered 2wd ea82 sedan to go rippin through the curves with. Mainly because I found a 2wd xt6 a while back and it's still around.

So my question is does the whole rear suspension swap over from the xt6 to the ea82 or just the rear arms?

I'm assuming all xt6's had swaybars in the rear.

I've read up on swapping the front just hadn't been able to find the rear info.

Thanks

rear is easy, it's all identical to the EA82. swap out just the hub and bearings or swap out the entire hub assembly/control arm.

So mounting the xt6 swaybar should be pretty easy in the rear with proper trailing arms. Are there mounting points on the torsion housing or body?

You'll need the control arms to use the sway bar. Have a pair of new XT6 rear FWD shocks if interested. Grab the MC also.

you won't have the mounting points for the sway bar i don't believe. xt6 has mounts on the hub assemblies i forget where all the mounting points are i'm sure a search on sway bars would show it.

Just need to go look at the one that's sittin around and I could probably answer a couple of those questions.

All EA82/XT6s with a rear sway have them mounted to the main trailing arms in the rear. I've also seen people modify the arms to accept a swaybar when it didn't originally come with one.

The main upgrade using the XT6 stuff is the fact you'll have better brakes and a little bit better suspension. I like to use only the parts I have to for the XT6 and then use EJ parts the rest of the way for more upgradable parts.
