Drive shaft interchangeability

Featured Replies

I need drive shafts and I am going to a wrecking yard soon. I have a 92 legacy awd, and the fronts are so bad that it sounds like heard of clydesdales. If I yank accels and a brake caliper, what years are interchangeable (also has ABS)?

so what I forgot to say was that it is my only mode of transport and I need to get shafts soon. I am assuming that 92-92 legacy shafts will fit. any other years?

pretty sure they will

measure the axles and count the splines in the end of the axle.

I assume you are going to do a cv axle swap correcT?

I imagine 92-96 legacy are all the same size. If you really wanted to know, call a parts store and ask them. I do that to Napa all the time. Just make it sound like your interested in buying from them.

I dont really trust part stores records for parts, Shucks told me 93 legacy half shafts wouldent fit a 92 legacy, there in the car right now.

unfortunately I am in hte UK, and in hte north (newcastle) and GOOD parts stores are in short supply. Subes are rare here. which is a bummer. I was going to get axels and rebuild them myself with new boots, then use mine as cores for a new pair when I need them And have the time and money to replace them
