my legacy gt wagon wont start

Featured Replies

ive put a jdm engine in my 97 legacy gt wagon and it wont start relays and fuel pump turns on and off with key on check engine flashes on and off . Engine justs turns over and over but trys to run sometimes and wont take fuel im comepletely stumped. i alsoput an obd II reader on it and got the following codes p1100 p1101 p1120 p1121 p1540 p130 p136 p 500

Did you use your old intake and all the sensors?

Are you getting spark?

If so, put a cap or two of gas in the intake, does it fire now?

Double check to make sure the main engine to firewall connectors are dry and tight, no bent pins.

given all the codes i would check the connectors. but if the intakes need to be swapped the wiring connector pins may be aligned differently and that will correct everything.

P0130 Front Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction

P0136 Rear Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction

P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction

P1100 Starter Switch Circuit Malfunction

P1101 Neutral Position Switch Circuit Malfunction P1120 Starter Switch High Input

P1121 Neutral Position Switch Circuit Low Input P1540 Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction 2

it trys but only runs for a second and then dies

gets lots of spark and spark plugs gaped 0.044 in. also theres a hissing sound at left side of engine. at fuel line when fuel pump turns on and is not leakeing or any thing

Sounds like a fuel issue. How long did the car sit?

Is the fuel pressure regulator on the passenger side rear fuel rail OK?

Pinch off the fuel return line going back to the tank, does it make a difference?

Can you hear the fuel pump running?

fuel pressure regulator is on the passanger side i think ,

Thats where the hissing or gurgleing sound is comming from when key is on

I can heare the fuel pump turn on but goes off a second later fuel comes out

of return line. the car sat for 1 to 1 and a half years but drained all the gas

and put fresh in 2 weeks ago with stabil and sea foam .

Change the pressure regulator. If you need one, I have plenty of them from 2.5.

I used all the sensors from intake

I am getting spark

tryed the gas runs barly then dies not realy consider a run or start , more like a spuder

will check all the wires and connectors

That's a lot of seemingly unconnected issues.

What year was the engine from?

Where was this car stored? I'm kinda thinking mouse damage.

I just got another wild idea. Check under the dash on the drivers side for the green diagnostic connectors. Those should be left unplugged. If they're connected unhook them. Clicking solenoids and relays sounds like those two connectors are plugged together and the ECU is in self test mode.
