Rear axle bearing protectors

Featured Replies

I had a doj go bad on my 87.

Had a helluva time trying to get the axle unmated from the wheel end.

An errant smack, or two, with a BFH and I bent the piss out of the sheet metal bearing protector that presses onto the end of joint.

Anyone got an idea what it's actually called and/or where to source one from?

Your help is appreciated.

I finally got to the point that I cursed the appropriate amount to get the shaft off...

You don't really need that dust sheild - just lube up the splines with anti-seize and call it good. I don't even run those sheilds on my lifted wagon.

Typically you can just straighten them and put them back on - if you need a new one then your best bet is a junk yard since it's that's not somthing prone to failure.
