December 17, 201015 yr I have a friend that has a 98 forester and he has no blinkers. Where should I start looking and where is the blinker relay/control module. I also need to know where the flasher module is as I have been told that that could also be the problem. Right now he has nothing. Thanks Mike
December 17, 201015 yr If there is no signs of power to the turn indicators then I suggest you check for a bad fuse first off. If the emergency flashers don't work also then I would be pretty sure there is a power problem causing the trouble.
December 17, 201015 yr Author I will check those fuses, but I need the location of the control modules too.
December 17, 201015 yr i just went through an entire 2000 FSM body electrical system pages and didn't find the module location. the combination switch on the column could be bad too - like it's not activating/dirty contacts/etc.
December 17, 201015 yr look like it's called a "turn signal and hazzard module", so if the hazards don't work then you're probably almost positive it's the controller. i found the connector B32 for the 2000 model year legacy stuff - i would think the forester is the same? 3 pole black connector. it looks like it's up and to the right of the gas pedal - kind of where the TCU and ABS terminal is located but up a little higher and the the right. im trying to copy paste a picture from the FSM.
December 17, 201015 yr i emailed it rather than shrink it to attach here. wasnt' much more info on it that i could find.
December 17, 201015 yr I just though of another thing. I think the power for the turn signals is switched by the emergency flasher switch so try cycling that switch a few times to see if that helps restore things.
