Hey guys, I am going to refinish the topper for my 1985 Gen 2 Brat.

It is white and I really do not like the white topper on my silver Brat.

I have already stripped and refinished the Jackmans and painted them low gloss black, which I think looks MUCH better on my Brat.

 

Currently when the topper is on my Brat it touches the paint in several areas. So, I am sure at one time there must have been some weatherstripping on the topper to give it a little extra clearance. What are you guys using?

Any suggestions?

Go to JC Whitney and look through their Jeep and 4wd section for body parts. I don't remember which one it is, but you'll want the kind that would slip over a pinch weld, like door weather stripping. You then install the groove of the stripping over the edge of the topper with the seal facing in. Voila! I would also get some mylar and put it on the body where the seal contacts it or it will wear the paint.....
