Best setup for daily driver?

Featured Replies

Working on an ea81 wagon here. I was wondering what everyone suggests for a nice build that will serve double duty as a daily driver and part trail rig. I live in Ohio so our trails are not crazy, mainly alot of fields, trails through woods, abandoned rail road beds, things of that nature.

Im looking for something that looks good and wont eat axles.

What does everyone suggest?

I was thinking 2 or 4 inch lift with 27 inch tires.

for 27's on an ea81, you'll want a 4" lift, and you'll still have to trim....

weber and 5 speed would make it better as a daily... when I had 225/70R14s (26.4") on, it was a much better dd than it is now with the 27x9.50x15 SSRs (27.5") ...

mcbrat you seem to be the guy who knows about lifts.

is the do it yourself route fairly easy? i seen the how to guide on the offroading subaru site. only thing im concerned with is the strut tower extenders. i have a tig welder tube bender and chop saw in the garage, so i should be able to do it.

also...if I wanted to level it out, would I go 4 inch lift in the front and 3 inch in the rear?

I've always just bought my lifts, becuse I didn't have the equipment to make/cut them, so I'm far from an expert. I just have a few lifts...

yes, a 4"/3" would level it out more..

I have a pair of 4" SJR Cast Aluminum EA81 strut blocks (never used) I'd sell for $80 shipped.
