March 2, 200422 yr well i went to the junk yard the other day to get parts for my wifes probe. as we were crusing to get them i noticed some gl wagons hidden in the back of the lot surrounded by weeds. i got out and looked through them only to find they were all auto, 2wd:( . then i saw it. a grey gl wagon with a good body. i ran over to look at to find the gold mine. its an 85 gl-10 wagon with the entire car minus the steering wheel still intact and in great condition. it has an ea82 engine with gen 2 heads, the 5sp, d/r trans and 3.9 diffs. the interior is pretty clean too. the guy at the yard said as far as he knew the only thing wrong with it was a broken timing belt. i talked to the owner and he said he will sell me the entire car for $250. it will need the carb cleaned and timing belt(which i have a spare), along with some tune up parts. it has the white spoke rims(perfect condition), and the tires even appear to look good as well. this could be the off-roading beast i have been searching for, i am very excited.
March 2, 200422 yr If it's carbed, it's probably not really a GL-10. Does it have all of the GL-10 options? -Digital Dash -Trip Computer -Cloth Headliner -Height Adjustable Driver's Seat -Rear Head Rests -Gravel Guards on Rear Doors (<- this one is key) Sounds to me like maybe someone put a GL-10 badge on a GL, but '85 was a weird year.
March 2, 200422 yr Author well it could be an gl-5. i was just estatic so i was just running around like a kid in a candy store. come to think of it i think it is a 5. still pretty good none the less.
March 2, 200422 yr Author Originally posted by gbianchi It needs a steering wheel!! yes!, and some other things to make it run again, but i still think its a good deal.
