Legacy 90' wagon white smoke

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I have a 90' legacy with a ej22 engine. Lately i noticed that white smoke is coming out the exhaust. Is not noticeable when you run it but when stopped is a abnormal amount of smoke. is obvious at night. I change the motor oil to Amsoil to see if it helped, since white smoke usually means that is mixing oil and gas. Same problem so far no improvement. If anyone can help tell me the different options of what the problem could be and if possible how to fix it??

Thank you

White smoke could indicate that a head gasket is bad, allowing coolant to enter the combustion chamber, and exit as steam from the exhaust. Check your radiator to see if the water/coolant is a little low.

Don't think that the white smoke is oil and gas. If that were to occur, the color would be darker, and more blueish in color.
