So I bought an 87 GL (spif) the engine had just been swaped a few months prior. I noticed the PO had ran a wire to the temp switch on the radiator and ran that to the battery. I have a belt driven fan so i sew no need for that and removed it. So does that switch need to have power if i have a manual fan?

 

Recently my car has started to stall out/ spudder when i apply the gas then all of asudden it takes off getting kinda anoying so im gonna check for vac leaks and the coolent sensor.

You don't need the switch. It is only used for the electric fan.

 

The TPS sensor may have a bad spot on it causing the stalling problem.

I cleaned the temp sensor and it may have helped, ill be able to realy tell once its sat all night. Seems to do it worse in the morning.
