EJ22T Possibilities

Featured Replies

I have a 92 Legacy Sports sitting in my driveway with the EJ22T and I want to use the engine in my Brat with 5 spd DR. I have what I need (or know what I still need) to make it fit and run, but now I am curious as to what are my options for power possibilities. I know this is a good block and heads are crap. What other engine parts fit on here to make this rip? Dont worry about the drive train or twisting the body. I will solve that as I get to it.

The block casting itself is good, as is the crank. The rest is crap, at least if you want more than 250 HP. The rods, pistons and heads need to be uprated.

2 different routes to go for upgrading a EJ22T.

DOHC = Frame rail adjustment in EA81

SOHC = Your best mod for a EA81

The 2.0 heads and intake are a good option and are easy to find.

Also upgrading the turbo to a TD04 is a good mod.

Make sure your trans is low mileage or in good shape.

It wont handle this kind of power for very long.
