whaaatt???! the solution was to hack up the car and reweld it together? rather than bondo it...?

Replacing the whole rear quarter would be a much better job than repairing it with filler. It will last much longer, and it will come out much better. I would have done the same thing. Glad you decided to fix it instead of it meeting the fate of most WRX's and parting it out.

the quarter cut is more than we are using. we are going to drill out the spot welds, on both and re-skin the car. Car only has 75k one owner miles and has no mods. Doing it with no bondo, it will be a good car and last that way.
